I'm Yasmine Galenorn, New York Times bestselling author, and I write two urban fantasy series for Berkley--the Otherworld Series (aka Sisters of the Moon Series) and the Indigo Court Series. In the past, I've also written two mystery series (one under the name of India Ink) and eight nonfiction metaphysical books that have hit the shelves.
I'm a shamanic witch--in the Craft since 1980, and I walk an eclectic, for the most part solitary, path.
I'm a total caffeine junkie (iced quad shot soy lattes), and I describe my life as a blend of teacups and tattoos--the former in my china closet, the latter on my skin.
I'm married to Samwise Galenorn, the mother of one senior cat still with us, and three rambunctious youngsters, one of whom is part Bengal. We miss our three senior girls who recently crossed the RB. We reside in Kirkland WA. I received my B.A. from The Evergreen State College and am a strong Capricorn (Sun, Jupiter, Saturn) with a lot of Aquarian influence (Mercury, the Moon).
Because so many people ask, you pronounce my name this way: Yaz-mihn (NOT Jasmine--it's a "Y", not a "J"--I'm very particular about that). If you want to, you can pronounce it Yaz-meen. Last name is pronounced: Gal-eh-norn The accent is on the first syllable. Interesting trivia: Samwise and I created our last name together after we got married. He first took my last name, but then we decided to construct a name that was ours alone. So we created our last name out of the Elvish in LOTR. Galenorn means Green Tree in Elvish. And yes, Samwise is his legal name.
